Meanwhile, Grace Christian got the win against Roanoke Valley Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Ethan Wright and Davis Reid were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wright pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Reid kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wright went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Reid went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Reid's first of the season.
In other batting news, Zeke Cozzolino was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elijah McCaskill, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Grace Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
