The Sutherland Sailors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 62-43 to Brady. Sutherland lost against Brady in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 30-23 score last time.
Sutherland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Story Rasby, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracyn Elfeldt, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brady to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taryn Stearns, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds. Lydia McGown was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Sutherland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brady, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Sutherland will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sandhills Valley at 6:00 p.m. As for Brady, they will head out on the road to face off against Paxton at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
