New Hanover put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Jack Britt Buccaneers 54-35. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buccaneers, too.

New Hanover had a senior duo take command as Maleah Moses Braxton dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jazziyah Smith almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Smith is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justine McCague, who posted six points and five steals.

New Hanover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Jack Britt lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Asiauna Robinson, who put up 14 points. Ashanthy Marcano was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

New Hanover's record is now 3-0. As for Jack Britt, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Coming up, New Hanover will head out on the road to take on Seventy-First at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd. As for Jack Britt, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-22 loss against Union Pines on the 25th.
