After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin Community, the Whiteland Warriors were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They managed a 47-42 win over Perry Meridian. That's another feather in the cap for Whiteland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Whiteland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophia Dyer led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carly Vondielingen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Perry Meridian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aubrey Hall, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubriana Haugh, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Whiteland's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Perry Meridian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Whiteland will be playing at home against Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Perry Meridian, they will take on Pike at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Perry Meridian in Indiana (Pike is ranked 103rd, while Perry Meridian is ranked 261st).
