The Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Analy Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Archie Williams will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Monday, Archie Williams made easy work of Terra Linda and carried off a 15-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Peregrine Falcons, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Archie Williams' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paige Murphy, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kennedy Dunsing was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Archie Williams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Analy didn't have quite enough to beat Sonoma Valley on Monday and fell 6-5. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Maya Antonelli made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Jurek, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Archie Williams' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Analy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Analy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Archie Williams has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Analy, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Archie Williams keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Archie Williams came out on top in a nail-biter against Analy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Peregrine Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
