The Seton Catholic Central Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Chenango Forks at home to the tune of 84-26. Winning may never get old, but Seton Catholic Central sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Dempsey, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Johnny Hopf, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Chenango Forks' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Stephen Samsel, who scored nine points, and Ethan Vaseleck who scored five points. Samsel scored a full 34.6% of Chenango Forks' points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Seton Catholic Central pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Chenango Forks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seton Catholic Central will take on Waverly at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Waverly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Chenango Forks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Owego Free Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Owego Free Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chenango Forks in New York (Owego Free Academy is ranked 118th, while Chenango Forks is ranked 370th).
