Tri-County let Jaycie Sanchez and Kaila Foster run wild. Sanchez got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Foster got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Foster a new career-high. Lily Stucker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Tri-County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .620. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Rosholt's offense. They lost 17-0 to Pacelli on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 23, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Tri-County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Rosholt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tri-County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. However, it's not like Rosholt struggles in that department as they've averaged .536. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tri-County's way against Rosholt when the teams last played back in April, as Tri-County made off with a 17-6 win. Do the Penguins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
