Despite the loss, Lopez still got an impressive performance from gabriel rios, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rios' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Harlingen South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alvin Edwards led the charge by rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. David Kirksey was another key contributor, rushing for 70 yards and two touchdowns.
