There's no place like home for the Concord Minutemen, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 46-26 margin over La Porte. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Concord also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Leading Concord to victory were Shelby Emerick and Dominique Stilley. Emerick scored 16 points along with 3 steals, while Stilley scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Emerick has scored at least 25% of Concord's points.
Concord's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for La Porte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Concord will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Bend Clay at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully South Bend Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Saturday. As for La Porte, they will head out on the road to face off against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merrillville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Porte in Indiana (Merrillville is ranked 134th, while La Porte is ranked 317th).
