The Gretna East Griffins came tearing into  Friday's  contest with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   46-34  win over Westview. 46 seems to be a good number for Gretna East as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  points in their previous game.
 Westview lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Olivia Ross, who  scored ten points along with five  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Macy Kellner, who  scored six points along with three  steals.
 Gretna East's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Westview, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost seven of their last nine matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
 Gretna East will be playing in front of their home fans against Waverly at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Waverly will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Westview, they won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Lincoln Southeast at 3:30  p.m.  on January 27th. The timing is sure in Lincoln Southeast's favor as the  team sits on five straight wins at home while Westview has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
