The Forest Wildcats won the last time they faced the Lake Weir Hurricanes, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Forest really took it to Lake Weir for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-19 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Forest has managed all season.
Forest found their leader in underclassman Jessica Colon, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Maleah Flagler was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Forest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Lake Weir, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Forest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hawthorne at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Hawthorne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Lake Weir, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belleview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Weir in Florida (Belleview is ranked 295th, while Lake Weir is ranked 618th).
