This season hasn't been kind to The DuPont Tigers, who are still winless after their ninth game. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 51-0 to St. Elizabeth, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. DuPont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Elizabeth apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2016.
St. Elizabeth can attribute much of their success to Nehemiah Hamilton, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
St. Elizabeth's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Lucas Reyburn and his two sacks.
DuPont's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 1.5 points per game. As for St. Elizabeth, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DuPont will take on Wilmington Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilmington Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for St. Elizabeth, they will be playing at home against Dickinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Dickinson is ranked 42nd, while St. Elizabeth is ranked 33rd).
