The Golden Sierra Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Colfax, falling 67-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Golden Sierra has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Golden Sierra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Patrick Bingham. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Bingham is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of William Drescher, who scored six points along with three steals.
Golden Sierra bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Colfax, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Golden Sierra will head out on the road to face off against Union Mine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union Mine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Golden Sierra likes a good challenge. Colfax will be home for the holidays to greet Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
