The Hernando Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Pisgah Dragons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hernando sitting on eight straight wins and Pisgah on three.
It was a proper cat-fight when Hernando faced off against Sumrall on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 7-2.
Olivia Skinner looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Claire Cox, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graycin Higginbotham, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Hernando lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Pisgah let Florence stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Wednesday but luckily Pisgah prevailed anyway. The Dragons won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 5-4.
Alyssa McMurtrey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. McMurtrey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
McMurtrey wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hallie McCurdy, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Avery Noble, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Pisgah's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hernando, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
Hernando's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's matchup. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Pisgah, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hernando continue to outrun the ball?
