Baseball Recap: Ashbrook Has No Trouble Against Chambers

Ashbrook's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Chambers Cougars with a sharp 22-7 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 back in March.

AJ McClain was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Evan Lee, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Ashbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.

Ashbrook's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Chambers, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Ashbrook will take on Garinger at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chambers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
