The Northwood Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Seaforth Hawks at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood is looking to tack on another W to their 15-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Northwood put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Bartlett Yancey on the road to the tune of 84-23. Northwood's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Northwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Beau Harvey out in front who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harvey has scored all season. Drake Powell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Seaforth's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 80-67 to Chatham Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Seaforth has struggled against the Bears recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Seaforth saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Emerson, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lewis, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Northwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Seaforth, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Everything came up roses for Northwood against the Hawks when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 75-30 victory. With Northwood ahead 48-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
