The Bucklin Red Aces had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-41 margin over Larned. Fans of Bucklin have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Bucklin was led to victory by Emmerson Kirk and Sydnie Jones. Kirk scored 19 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds, while Jones dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kirk is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Evans, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Bucklin's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Larned, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Bucklin is on the road again on Saturday and play against Hoisington. Hoisington will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Larned, they will be playing at home against St. John on Saturday. One thing working in St. John's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
