Watauga added to the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 2 this week by beating Foard, 48-10. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Patton and South Caldwell played the most contested game in the league this week, with Patton eventually emerging with a 19-14 victory.
Freedom's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Titus Smith threw for 113 and 1 touchdown and Khris Gardin had 77 yards receiving. On the ground BJ Emmons contributed 102 yards. Marcus Wakefield helped Freedom's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Smith put up the best numbers in passing as the Patriots defeated Hickory. Smith's favorite target this week was Gardin, who caught 7 passes for 77 yards.
Freedom's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 804 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Gardin has 31 catches for 498 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Freedom takes on Watauga. Blair Hardin's team's offense has scored 244 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Ryan Habich's team has allowed only 86 on the year.
As it stands, the Pioneers are in first, while the Patriots are in fourth.
Watauga took down the Tigers 48-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
