Baseball Recap: Kimball Takes a Loss

Kimball was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the St. Mary's Rams, falling 13-6. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly seven runs.

Jordan Aldape was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kimball is 2-1 when Aldape posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise.

Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Kimball will challenge El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gauchos will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Mary's, they will take on Cardinal Newman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 2.3, the Cardinals 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
