The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Urbandale will challenge Waukee on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Urbandale were able to grind out a solid victory over Ames last Friday, winning 21-10.
Meanwhile, Waukee brought a four-game winning streak into their game against Johnston last Friday; they left with a five-game streak. Waukee dodged a bullet, finishing off Johnston 31-30. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Urbandale found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-29 punch to the gut against Waukee the last time the two teams met. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
