The Cypress Creek Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Mater Brighton Lakes Academy 67-14 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Cypress Creek as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cypress Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timberlyn Campbell, who scored 14 points. Jaylisse Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cypress Creek now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, their defeat was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Winter Haven Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
