The Greene County Tigers's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tuscaloosa Academy and snuck past 41-38. The win was all the more spectacular given Greene County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Tuscaloosa Academy is ranked 176th).
Egan Daley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Pelt, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and five blocks.
Greene County's win bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene County will challenge Aliceville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion has insisted on making their lastsix contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-4 during that stretch of close contests.
