The Bluegrass United Bluehawks waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They came out on top against Oldham County by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bluegrass United was led to victory by Grace Hanlon and Piper Graham. Hanlon scored 21 points, while Graham scored 23 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Hanlon is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie McGuire, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Bluegrass United is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. As for Oldham County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluegrass United will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Bluegrass United knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Washington County likes a good challenge. As for Oldham County, they will head out on the road to take on Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
