The Fremont Silverwolves's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 68-58 victory over Sky View. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fremont had a senior duo take command as Tyler Allen scored 23 points and Hunter Hansen scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hansen has scored at least 25% of Fremont's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Saunders, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Despite the loss, Sky View still got an impressive performance from Liam Guthrie, who scored 24 points. The contest was Guthrie's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Zachary Oxborrow was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Sky View were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only racked up 18 assists.
Fremont's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Sky View, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bonneville at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonneville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Sky View will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pocatello at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Pocatello has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 684 points over their last ten matchups.
