Wright City won the last time they faced Van-Far/Community, and things went their way on Friday, too. Wright City were able to grind out a solid victory over Van-Far/Community, winning 26-14. The success made it back-to-back wins for Wright City.
Wright City's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 18 points in the first half. Van-Far/Community came up with 8 to make it 18-8 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for Wright City in the second half, holding Van-Far/Community to a measly 6 points.
Freshman Hayden Beck, who passed for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Wright City's success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Christian Ebersohl, who racked up 10 tackles. The win bumped Wright City's record up to 2-1. The loss dropped Van-Far/Community back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Wright City take on North Callaway at Game #4 at 7:00 PM. Van-Far/Community are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Clopton/Elsberry at 7:00 PM.
