Skyline and the Mustangs are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Skyline Vikings will be playing at home against the Oakwood Academy Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Skyline's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Mustangs have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
With a playoff game on the line, Skyline rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Trojans 62-26 at home. Skyline has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, even though Woodville scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Oakwood Academy still came out on top. Oakwood Academy took their game against the Panthers 63-56.
Oakwood Academy found their leader in underclassman Jaiden Morton, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Oakwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
Skyline beat the Mustangs 59-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Skyline have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
