If the Pollok Central Bulldogs were riding high off their 48-28 takedown of the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pollok Central took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brook Hill. Pollok Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brook Hill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Graham, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. Jake Matthews was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Pollok Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Brook Hill, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Pollok Central is on the road again on Thursday and play against San Augustine at 2:15 p.m. on December 7th. San Augustine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1242nd, while Pollok Central is ranked 368th). As for Brook Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rusk at 7:30 p.m. Rusk is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
