While the St. Augustine Prep Hermits couldn't quite beat the Atlantic City Vikings on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 21-point defeat they were dealt last Tuesday. St. Augustine Prep fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 46-43. St. Augustine Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Atlantic City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khajuan Roseborough led the charge by scoring 14 points along with four steals. Roseborough has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Finks, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Augustine Prep and nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for Atlantic City, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine Prep will take on the Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Cinnaminson is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Atlantic City, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Greyhounds at 2:00 p.m. on February 4th. Pleasantville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Vikings are ranked 52nd).
