In what's become a running theme this season, the CHESS Academy Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Furlow Charter School 68-34 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-16.
Despite the loss, Furlow Charter School still got an impressive performance from Kamari Deriso, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 20 rebounds, and nine blocks. Deriso hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Jaheim Walton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
CHESS Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Furlow Charter School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
CHESS Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Open Bible Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Open Bible Christian is ranked 439th, while CHESS Academy is ranked 442nd). Furlow Charter School on the road again on Tuesday and play against Baker County at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
