The Marine Leadership Academy Bulldogs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Chicago Academy 44-5. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marine Leadership Academy has scored all season.
Chicago Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Destiny Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lizbeth Sanchez, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Marine Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Chicago Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Marine Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chicago Academy will head out on the road to square off against Chicago Mathematics & Science at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
