Baseball Game Preview: University Trailblazers vs. Lawrence North Wildcats

The University Trailblazers will take on the Lawrence North Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Lawrence North's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: University hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Trailblazers never let Hamilton Heights get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Trailblazers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Cam Rady's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Ryan Castetter was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for University: the team is 8-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lawrence North and Hamilton Southeastern meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Royals by a score of 4-2.

Oliver Glanzman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. John Whetstone also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

University's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Lawrence North, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
