Western Christian was just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Arrowhead Christian. It was the first time this season that Western Christian let down their fans at home.
Western Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Doolittle, who threw for 401 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Elijah Vasquez, who picked up 221 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Arrowhead Christian had a senior duo take command as Caden Rossi gained 137 total yards and three touchdowns and Connor Thuilliez threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Western Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Arrowhead Christian, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Western Christian will challenge Linfield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Arrowhead Christian, they will be playing at home against Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
