The Keswick Christian Crusaders entered their tilt with the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Keswick Christian walked away with a 50-38 victory over Palm Harbor University on Thursday. Given Keswick Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Palm Harbor University is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ava Graham was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Keswick Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Leah Celosse, who scored eight points.
Despite the defeat, Palm Harbor University saw an underclassman step up: Leah Barker scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Secundino, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Keswick Christian's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.2 points. As for Palm Harbor University, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Keswick Christian will head out on the road to take on Berkeley Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palm Harbor University, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northeast is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
