Foran has gone 8-2 against Hand recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Foran's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Hand's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Foran is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Masuk, who was ranked third at the time (Foran was ranked sixth). The Lions took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Wednesday. The Lions have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hand entered their tilt with Hamden on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 14-2 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Riley Amenta made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Amenta was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Campbell Leckey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Brennan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Hand kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hand's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Foran, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.
Everything went Foran's way against Hand in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Foran made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
