Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Trinity Christian Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Bainbridge on the road and fell 49-14. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Bainbridge is ranked 26th).
Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian had strong showings from Phoenix Moss, who rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and Wesley Middlebrooks ii, who picked up 229 receiving yards and a touchdown. Moss was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards. Ashton Clare was another key contributor, throwing for 199 yards and a touchdown.
Bainbridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Phillips out in front who rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Antavious Murphy was another major influence, as he rushed for 96 yards and ran in a TD.
Trinity Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Bainbridge, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bainbridge will play host again and welcome Perry, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perry is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
