The Elba Bluejays had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 27-17 on Thursday. The win was just what Elba needed coming off of a 47-25 defeat in their prior game.
Elba found their leader in underclassman Addison Wysocki, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Wysocki hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Despite the defeat, Franklin saw an underclassman step up: Johanna Haussermann scored five points along with ten rebounds. Haussermann hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for four straight games.
Elba's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15. As for Franklin, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-18.
Elba will head out on the road to take on Ansley/Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Elba is ranked 278th, while Ansley/Litchfield is ranked 255th). Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
