Softball Recap: Fitch Has No Trouble Against Killingly

While Fitch put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Killingly. The Falcons put the hurt on the Redmen with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Falcons have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Cosmopoulos and Jaedyn Steffens did most of the damage at the plate: Cosmopoulos went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Steffens went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Steffens a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maerin Lyon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Fitch is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Killingly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Coming up, Fitch will host Stonington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Killingly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
