Brooks County extended the longest winning streak in AA Region 1 this week by beating Randolph-Clay, 29-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Trojans.
Early County took down Berrien 43-19 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Fitzgerald's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Romarius Gaulden chipped in 125 yards.
Zeke Coley was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hurricanes defeated Cook. Coley racked up two receptions for 34 yards.
Thomasville's Cal King and Colby Marsh have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. King has thrown for 227 yards this season, while Marsh has seven catches for 111 yards. Gaulden from Fitzgerald leads the league in rushing with 490 yards.
Two of the top units in AA Region 1 will face off this week when Brooks County takes on Jason Strickland's team. Larry Brain's team's offense has scored 244 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Hurricanes have allowed only 68 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Trojans take on Fitzgerald. As it stands, Brooks County is in first, while the Hurricanes are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Trojans and Fitzgerald face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Brooks County comes in having scored 244 this season, while the Hurricanes have scored 180. The Trojans scored 29 points last week as they bested the Red Devils.
The Bobcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on the Rebels.
