Clinton Prairie took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Vermillion on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (41), Clinton Prairie still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Clinton Prairie had strong showings from Seth Whitlock, who rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns, and Steven Mackey, who rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
Leading North Vermillion to victory were Cody Tryon and Jerome White. Tryon gained 280 total yards and five touchdowns, while White threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per attempt. Tryon was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 63 yards.
Clinton Prairie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for North Vermillion, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3.
Clinton Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Vermillion will be playing in front of their home fans against Park Tudor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Park Tudor will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
