Gaston Day never let Rocky Mount Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 25-17.
St. Thomas More Academy better keep an eye on Ava Blanton. She was instrumental in Gaston Day's win, getting 18 digs and four aces. Blanton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Gaston Day was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.
