Marion County received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 56-42 to Campbellsville. Marion County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Campbellsville to victory were Deondre Weathers and Landon Colvin. Weathers scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Colvin dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Colvin pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keondre Weathers, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Marion County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Campbellsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion County and South Oldham will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Oldham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 265 points over their last three matchups. Campbellsville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Edmonson County at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Edmonson County is ranked 218th, while Campbellsville is ranked 219th).
