Central Woodstock is 8-2 against Rappahannock County since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Central Woodstock Falcons just played last night, but they'll still head out to face Rappahannock County at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
Central Woodstock unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to Strasburg on the road by a decisive 47-32 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central Woodstock has scored all season.
Even though Rappahannock County has not done well against Madison County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Rappahannock County strolled past Madison County with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. Given Rappahannock County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Madison County is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Woodstock's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Rappahannock County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Central Woodstock strolled past Rappahannock County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 63-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Woodstock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
