The Wickenburg Wranglers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 27-15 victory over Odyssey Institute. That's another feather in the cap for Wickenburg, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Odyssey Institute saw an underclassman step up: Eva Garcia Carrillo scored 11 points along with 3 steals. Garcia Carrillo continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
Wickenburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Odyssey Institute, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Wickenburg will take on Tonopah Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Odyssey Institute, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trivium Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
