The Brookfield Academy Blue Knights waltzed into Saturday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 84-74 victory over Heritage Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Heritage Christian still got an impressive performance from Mike Bowen Jr., who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Bowen Jr.'s sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Robinson, who scored 13 points.
Brookfield Academy has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.3 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Academy will square off against Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Heritage Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against St. Francis at 7:15 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
