Basketball Recap: Jay's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jay entered their tilt with South San Antonio on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the South San Antonio Bobcats as they made off with a 59-33 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ny'Ashia Barnes, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Claire Gutierrez, who had nine points.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tonie Chapa, who earned nine points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Alvarez, who put up two points along with five blocks and three steals.

Jay's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 30.4% in those games and 20.4% outside of them. As for South San Antonio, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Jay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-45 win against MacArthur on the 13th. As for South San Antonio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-28 loss against Southside on the 13th.
