West Brunswick is 0-10 against Hoggard since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The West Brunswick Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Hoggard Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, West Brunswick beat Topsail 55-50.
West Brunswick's success was spearheaded by the efforts of K'Veon Griffin, who posted nine points along with six assists and six steals, and Matthew McKenney, who put up 19 points. McKenney continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nick Graham was another key player, putting up seven points.

West Brunswick better keep an eye on Will Seward. He was instrumental in Hoggard's win, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Seward a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Flanner Patterson, who posted nine points and five rebounds.
West Brunswick's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6. As for Hoggard, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: West Brunswick has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Hoggard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
