The Bloomfield Bobcats lost to the Taos Tigers back in January of 2022, but the Bloomfield Bobcats didn't allow the Taos Tigers the same satisfaction on Thursday. Bloomfield came out on top against Taos by a score of 43-33. Given Bloomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Taos is ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aliya Quintana was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Delanna Russell, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Bloomfield and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Taos, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Bloomfield will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hope Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Taos won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hot Springs at 9:00 a.m. on January 19th. Hot Springs is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
