The Box Elder Bees will take on the Olympus Titans at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Box Elder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.
Box Elder heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Tuesday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salem Hills. The Bees' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Kailee Hall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Izibel Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Olympus made sure to put some runs up on the board against Taylorsville on Tuesday. The Titans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Warriors. Considering the Titans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Jaedin Mugleston was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Adi Comer, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Olympus is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Box Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-4.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Box Elder has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .528. However, it's not like Olympus struggles in that department as they've averaged .479. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Box Elder took their victory against Olympus in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Bees have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
