After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Katy, the Cinco Ranch Cougars were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They snuck past Seven Lakes with a 40-36 win. Given Cinco Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Seven Lakes is ranked 697th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Cinco Ranch to victory were Taytum Johnson and Davis Roup. Johnson picked up 114 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Roup threw for 384 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.
Cinco Ranch pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.6 points per game. As for Seven Lakes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Cinco Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seven Lakes also has no future games currently scheduled.
