Floresville is 0-3 against Calhoun since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Floresville Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Calhoun Sandcrabs at 7:00 p.m. Floresville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Floresville strolled past Pleasanton with points to spare, taking the game 34-20.
Adrian Wilson was a one-man wrecking crew for Floresville as he rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Calhoun really took it to Rockport-Fulton for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-14 victory on the road. Given Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Rockport-Fulton is ranked 822nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Darrik Salinas, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Calhoun also got a significant boost from Jayce Campos, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Floresville's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Calhoun, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Floresville suffered a grim 35-13 defeat to Calhoun in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Floresville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
